'miss u so bad' was recorded at gigantic studios by chris zane in july 2006. I remember we came into the studio tight as shit and the assistant engineer, alex aldi, remarked that he wasn't used to bands doing stuff in one or two takes and actually feeling good about what they had done. that's an amazing feeling! it would be nearly impossible in a contemporary pro-tools / home-recording scenario. it would require the band to have an ungodly amount of restraint.

this is the only song I've ever written that came out almost fully formed out of nowhere. I had been practicing guitar two, three hours a day for a while, running chromatic scales. and then suddenly, I just hit an 'F' and said
