about
the end of the set from the july 28, 2005 performance at piano's, the final show of our residency. perhaps you remember that we used to close our set by standing in a line at the front of the stage, raising our right hands aloft in unison, falling deeply, and then raising up at a glacial pace. it was modeled after a curious technique I learned from a certain frenchman named antony sandoval who claimed that it 'guaranteed standing ovations'.
we requested that the sound man play brahms's "es tönt ein voller harfenklang" as we bowed. I still get teared up when I hear it.

lyrics
I miss you so bad, it makes me so sad, I miss you so bad
I miss you so bad, it makes me so sad, I miss you so bad
I was so happy, you were so happy too
I'm dreamin' bout me and you
and all the nasty shit we used to do
I miss you so bad, it makes me so sad, I miss you so bad
I miss you so bad, it makes me so sad, I miss you so bad
I know you don't want me, but does this have to be the end?
I'm sick of having to pretend that I don't wanna be your friend
ooh - sometimes I wanna call you but I know you won't pick up the phone
maybe you're just not at home ...
maybe you're just not alone ...
I just hope when I miss you that maybe you still miss me too
I just hope when I miss you that maybe you still miss me too
I miss you so bad, it makes me so sad, I miss you so bad
I miss you so bad, it makes me so sad, I miss you so bad
